Brief & Process
I worked as an editorial illustrator for Bergens Tidende for three years, with deadlines every Sunday and Tuesday. Editorial illustration is disciplined work, with short deadlines, and if the text came in late, I had hours.
But working with short deadlines is sometimes really good for decision making. I learnt to trust my intuition rather than overthinking a task, and some really fun illustrations came out of it! I didn’t have the time to question how it would be received by different people, and just had to execute the sketches to a finished piece as soon as possible. Good fun, and a really good exercise if you are ever in a rut with something you never finish.

Jul / Christmas
