Studio appreciation post
I don´t post much from my studio at Bryggen, mostly from my shop. But here is a quick insight into where I work when I’m not at my home office.

My studio is next to my gallery and shop. So while both being the store room for prints, posters and postcards, and rekvisita, it has designated spaces for drawing and painting, for cutting things and framing, and for relaxing.
The view!

I also have a small studette kitchen, where I make tea that I get from Tedragen. Picture of my own designed mug. And on some Fridays and Saturdays I get a baguette from the french bakery in Øvregaten.

I have art books that I never read, (used to though), but the most frequently opened book from these shelves are a marine biology book. Here I also store the posters, because, guess what, the new storage units I bought specifically to fit my posters were 1 (one!) cm shorter because of the doors making it 50 cm deep. Curses.
My storage units keep prints, and finished project folders filled with sketches that I feel I should keep but never look at. A shame to throw it all away though, guess I’ll have to document it and make extended edition work posts.
If you take a closer look there is no scanner and printer in my design studio (whaaat) but fear not, I have at home. I figured I wanted this space to be my analogue heaven. I split my workdays between this studio and my home office, and it’s wonderful to have a space that’s set up to prioritize drawing time. Maybe I’ll give a home office tour too one day. Hmm.

I do have a tv though, although it doesn’t belong to me. My sister runs a language company called Polyglott Language Services, where she rents my studio once a week to give lessons in French, Spanish and Italian. They use the tv as a monitor.
I do keep a lot of different art equipment, monoprinting, stacks of coloured pencils, inks, signwriting tools, and heaps of old work. Decorations for my shop entrance. Old sketchbooks.
